Rebuild the missing context
Assume the recipient will not remember every date, promise, or earlier conversation. For a message about how to address feeling excluded by friends, use this factual base: use one or two recent examples and name the trust, effort, money, or inclusion issue they created.
Say what needs to happen next
State the decision, information, or practical action you need and include a real deadline only when one exists. Ask how your friend understood the situation and propose one change that can be tested. Make the immediate next step clear enough that the recipient can answer without reconstructing the entire history.
Avoid making urgency into pressure
Do not assemble mutual friends, post indirect messages, or use confidential information as evidence. Stop direct contact and use appropriate support when there are threats, stalking, coercion, or safety concerns. Do not make the other person responsible for reducing the discomfort that prompted you to write.
